The Treniers were a rhythm'n'blues group around the twin brothers Clifton and Claude Trenier, which later also included the other brothers Milton and uncle Buddy Trenier. Previously active as swing musicians, from the early 50s the band shaped a combination of this style with rhythm'n'blues, which was later to become known as jump blues or jive and was to influence not least the young Bill Haley.

After Milt became a member of the group in 1951, they had the Top Ten hit "Go Go Go", but also became known mainly for films such as "Don't Knock The Rock", "The Girl Can't Help It" and " Calypso Heat Wave". Two of the songs included here are The Treniers numbers with Milt on lead vocals, while other songs were released only under his name or together with the group The Gene Gilbeaux Quartet and as Milt Trenier & His Solid Six. The artist was still active live until 2017, experiencing a 70-year stage career.
