The Fretts
The Fretts are a fine example of great West Coast doo- wop. We’ve included their up-tempo number Rock’n Baby from their only Blue Moon single, cut in the summer of ’59. The 45’s label tells us the vocal solo is by Cecil Collins, and the backing group is most
likely a house band but the musicians are unknown to us. What we definitely know is that the Blue Moon house band was at no time The Downbeats.
