Led by Susan Tedeschi’s soulful voice and Derek Trucks’ astonishingly original, pick-free guitar playing, the Tedeschi Trucks Band has parked its tour bus at the mythical crossroads of blues and rock and, over the course of 15 years, established itself as one of the greatest live bands ever. But let’s take you back to the beginning of their odyssey with the FIRST live release the band ever put out. Live Revelator was released in 2012 as a limited-edition CD to promote TTB’s first studio album, Revelator, and to offer a taste of the upcoming double-live album Everybody’s Talkin’. Featuring the exclusive track “Don’t Let Me Slide,” this single LP offers a glimpse of the improvisational magic this band brings to the stage every night. And specifically this band: For this is the early lineup featuring Dead & Co. bassist Oteil Burbridge and the late, great Kofi Burbridge on keyboards. For its LP debut, this essential live document is released on fiery orange vinyl with black swirls, matching the cover and the intensity of the music on it.
