Leo Slezak
* August 18, 1873 - June 1, 1946.
Slezak had proven himself over many years as a hero tenor and chamber singer on German stages. Then he got his first film role as "Der Frauendiplomat" in 1932. In 1934 he finally retired from the stage and went to the cinema. From now on he takes part in many well-known movies, so also in "Herbstmanöver", from which the song "Auf der Heide blüh'n die letzten Rosen" (1937) originates.
