Frank Sinatra with Jimmy Dorsey & His Orchestra: Sings The Standards (LP)

Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra, Frank Sinatra – Sings The Standards brings together Tommy Dorsey’s distinctive big-band sound and Frank Sinatra’s early vocal performances. Their collaboration formed an important part of Sinatra’s musical development, when he performed as a singer with Dorsey’s orchestra. The repertoire draws on swing, jazz and classic American standards. Songs such as I'll Never Smile Again, East of the Sun (And West of the Moon) and I'll Be Seeing You illustrate the combination of orchestral arrangements and Sinatra’s clear, melodic vocal style. Dorsey’s ensemble contributes its characteristic big-band sound, giving the music a distinctive period atmosphere. For listeners interested in traditional American popular music, this release offers a glimpse into an early chapter of Sinatra’s career and his work with one of the prominent orchestras of the era.

"Frank Sinatra with Jimmy Dorsey & His Orchestra"

Frank Sinatra

Bemerkenswerte Auftritte um New York folgten.
