(2001/03 'Severn') (53:18/13) Alex Schultz, bei uns immer noch am besten bekannt durch seinen Job als Gitarrist der Mighty Flyers, nennt sich selbst einen Bandspieler. Kein Wunder also, dass sein langerwartetes erstes Soloalbum nichts von einer Gitarrenorgie hat. Vielmehr hat sich Alex einen Traum erfüllt und mit drei hoch-qualifizierten Norditalienern eine extrem entspannte, äußerst coole und leicht jazzige Scheibe aufgenommen. Das Repertoire reicht von Jump- und Swing-Nummern bis hin zu Shuffles und Balladen. Um das Album abzurunden, nahm er später noch drei feurige Gitarreninstrumentals in Kalifornien auf. Ein schönes unaufdringliches Werk von diesem überaus geschmackvollen, sympathischen Musiker / He's best-known for his long-time collaboration with Rod Piazza's Mighty Flyers. Originally from the east coast, his musical roots can be found on the west coast. For his long-awaited first solo album he invited three of his favorite European players to Calfornia. Augmented by the fabulous Larry Taylor and a bunch of incredible singers, Alex has recorded a collection of jazzy, swinging blues tunes. No guitar tour de force. To satisfy his many fans, Alex has arranged for a second recording session that produced three hot and cooking guitar instrumentals. A beautiful album presenting a tasteful collection, performed by a congenial artist. ALEX SCHULTZ - gtr, ALBERTO MARSICO - Hammond B3, LARRY TAYLOR - bass, GIO ROSSIE - drums.
