Various Artists Mark Hummel's Chicago Blues Party (CD)

As early as 1977, Mark Hummel founded his Blues Survivors, still one of the leading blues band on the west coast today. The young players learned a lot by backing-up the popular blues artists who either lived in California, or came here to tour. This live CD contains inspiring examples of such cooperations. There are some minor sound problems here and there. But this does not have any effect on the high value of the recordings which are taking us back in time into the most creative era of modern west coast blues. Highly recommended.
