David Rose The Very Best Of David Rose (CD)

CD on TARAGON RECORDS by David Rose - The Very Best Of David Rose (CD)
David Rose – The Very Best Of is a 12-track CD compilation released by Taragon Records in 1996. With a running time of approximately 31 minutes, the album presents a concise selection of recordings associated with American arranger and orchestra leader David Rose. The programme combines instrumental pop, orchestral arrangements and familiar themes from film and television. Featured titles include Love Is A Many Splendored Thing, Holiday For Strings, Forbidden Planet, Holiday For Trombones, Calypso Melody, Swinging Shepherd Blues, Like Young, Bonanza, Ponderosa, Hoss, Stripper and How The West Was Won. The inclusion of “Forbidden Planet” gives the collection a connection to classic science-fiction cinema, while Bonanza, Ponderosa and Hoss represent themes associated with the well-known Western television series. The collection is therefore an appealing choice for listeners interested in traditional orchestral pop, easy listening, film and television themes, and the polished instrumental sound of the mid-20th century. As a 1996 Taragon CD, it also represents a period-specific compilation of David Rose material rather than a modern reissue.
