The Revels: Intoxica (LP, Yellow Translucent Vinyl)

(Sundazed) 15 Tracks - Yellow Translucent Vinyl - original sealed first pressing!

The Revels helped shape the sound of early American surf instrumental rock, and “Intoxica! The Best Of The Revels” is a fine introduction to the band’s wild, guitar-driven style. Released by Sundazed as LP 5010 in 1994, this compilation brings together key Revels performances including “Church Key,” “Six Pak,” “It’s Party Time,” “Rampage,” “The Monkey Bird,” “Vesuvius,” “Soft Top” and “Longboard.” Their music combines the driving attack of instrumental rock with the unmistakable atmosphere of California surf culture, adding a raw rock’n’roll edge that sets The Revels apart. The title track “Intoxica” is one of the group’s signature recordings and perfectly captures their energetic approach. For collectors and fans of classic surf, instrumental rock, hot-rod culture and early rock’n’roll, this Sundazed LP offers a particularly appealing snapshot of a distinctive American sound.
