Rayne-Bo Ramblers

Leroy LeBlanc (1915-1988) was one of the most popular and celebrated of all Cajun performers, who enjoyed a long career spanning a half-century. In 1935 he formed his own band, which he called the Rayne-Bo Ramblers (LeBlanc was born in the town of Rayne, Louisiana). At his first session for Bluebird in August 1935, LeBlanc recorded a French version of Sleep, Baby, Sleep, titled Dor, baby, dor. To show his devotion to Jimmie Rodgers, LeBlanc named two of his children Jimmie and Carrie (Carrie Rodgers was Jimmie's wife).
