Im Januar 1941 nahm die 1912 in Köln geborene Marga Popp, begleitet von einem Männerchor und kleinem Studioorchester unter Leitung von Theo Reuter, Lili-Marlen [sic] für Clangor auf. Clangor war die Subskriptionsmarke des Schallplattenvolksverbandes in Berlin-Charlottenburg, dessen musikalischer Leiter, Theodor 'Theo' Reuter (1905-1975), für die Firma alle gängigen Schlager auf Schallplatte einspielte und dessen Geige den Charakter der Aufnahmen bestimmt.
