With his melodic guitar and deep soulful voice, High Risk, Low Reward will delight long-time fans of the Homemade Jamz Blues Band. But the eleven new songs Perry recorded with his producer Roger Inniss in Berlin's Studio Erde will also generate a new fan base. From the title song with the classic porch blues of his home state to the song Hard Times, which is an ode to failure in America, this album will touch every generation that listens to it.
Ain t Afraid To Eat Alone is very funky and heartfelt at the same time, starting with distinctive guitar playing. Homesick is a somewhat slower funky blues track that sounds like heavy heart. In other pieces Perry reflects on his own failed relationships.
