Jack Nitzsche

Geboren am 22. April 1937 in Chicago. Als Komponist war er u.a. an Needles And Pins beteiligt, er arbeitete als Arrangeur auch für Phil Spector. Nitzsche spielte auf diversen Rolling-Stones-Songs Piano, als Produzent schob er die Karriere von Willy DeVille entscheidend an.

Lange bevor er außerdem Filmmusiken schrieb ('Ein Offizier und Gentleman', 'Einer flog übers Kuckucksnest') landete er 1963 den hier vertretenen Klassiker des Surf-Sound. Nitzsche war ein ganz großer der Pop- und Rockmusik. Er verstarb am 25. August 2000 an Herzversagen.
