Olivia Newton-Johns scheint zeitlos zu sein. Mit einer Karriere über mehr als fünf Jahrzehnten ist sie immer noch eine lebendige, kreative Person, die von Fans rund um den Globus angebetet wird.

Geboren in Cambridge, England im Jahr 1948, das jüngste Kind von Professor Brin Newton-John und Irene, Tochter des Nobelpreisträgers Physiker, Max Born, Olivia zog nach Melbourne, Australien mit ihrer Familie, als sie fünf war. Ihre erste große Pause gewann einen Talentwettbewerb auf der populären TV-Show "Sing, Sing, Sing", die Olivia eine Reise nach London verdiente. Im Alter von fünfzehn Jahren hatte sie eine All-Girl-Gruppe namens Sol Four gegründet und 1963 erschien Olivia an lokalen Tennisplätzen und wöchentlichen Pop-Musik-Programmen in Australien.

Als sie schließlich ihre preisgekrönte Reise nach London einnahm, trat sie mit ihrer Freundin aus Melbourne, Pat Carroll (jetzt Farrar) zusammen, um einen doppelten Akt zu schaffen, "Pat & Olivia" und das Duo spielten Armee-Basen und Clubs Großbritannien und Europa. Olivia schneidet ihre erste Single für Decca Records im Jahr 1966, eine Version von Jackie DeShannons "Till You Say You'll Be Mine", und 1971 nahm sie eine Cover von Bob Dylans "If not For You", co-produziert von Bruce Welch und Mit-Australier und Freund, John Farrar, den sie weiterhin mit heute zusammenarbeitet.

Olivias U.S.-Album-Debüt "Let Me Be There" produzierte ihre erste Top-Ten-Single mit dem gleichen Namen, wobei Olivia von der Academy of Country Music als vielversprechendster weiblicher Sänger und Grammy Award als Best Country Sänger geehrt wurde.
