Who was/is Käthe von Nagy ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more
Käthe of Nagy
* 04 April 1904 - 20 December 1973
Born in Hungary, she radiates grace and charm and is called Kató Nagy by birth. Before she moved to Berlin in the middle of the 20's, she had taken acting lessons. But it takes some time until she can distinguish herself in the acting field. She got her first role in the silent movie "Männer vor der Ehe" in 1927. Afterwards she embodies - similar to Lilan Harvey - very young girls and later sophisticated salon ladies, often at the side of Hans Albers or Heinz Rühmann. In the year 1932 she succeeds alongside Willy Fritsch in the film operetta "Ich bei Tag und du bei Nacht" in which she sings the hit "Wenn ich sonntags in mein Kino geh'". It is released in the same year on shellac and is Käthe von Nagys only German-speaking record.
