geb. 3. 11. 1948 in Fort Worth/Texas Record Labels: Philo, Rounder In jahrelanger harter Arbeit hat sich der Komponist und Texter Hugh Moffatt, Bruder von Katy Moffatt, zur Elite der Hitlieferanten großer Stars hoch geschafft. Geprägt von der Musikszene von Austin/Texas, kam Moffatt Anfang der 70er Jahre nach Nashville, wo er rasch durch seine außergewöhnlichen Songs auffiel. Zu seinen bekanntesten Liedern gehören Old Flames Can't Hold A Candle To You, Wild Turkey, Slow Movin' Freight Train, Carolina Star und Praise The Lord And Send Me The Money. inzwischen versucht sich Hugh Moffatt auch als Interpret seiner eigenen Songs.
