war ein Schlagzeuger und Sänger aus Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Er zog nach Los Angeles, wo er und seine Gruppe, The Solid Senders - Ben Waters (Tenor Sax), John Kelson (Alto Sax), Arthur Walker (Trompete), Camille Howard (Klavier), Johnny Rodgers (Gitarre) und Dallas Bartley (Schlagzeug) - die R&B-Charts zwischen 1946 und 1952 mit einer Reihe von immer wiederkehrenden Jazz-basierten Jump Blues Titeln dominierten. Seine Top 10-Hits schlossen `RM Blues' und 'Roy Milton Boogie' (auf Jukebox 1946) und 'True Blues', 'Thrill Me', 'The Hucklebuck', `Oh Baby', 'T-Town Twist' und `So Tired' auf Specialty. Als der Großstadt-Rhythm & Blues an Popularität einbüßte, begann Milton mit geringerem Erfolg für die Labels Cenco, Warwick, Thunderbird und Kent Aufnahmen zu machen.
