The Parisian quintet formed in 2009 to pay homage to the rousing teenage rock'n'roll of the late 50s and early 60s. Two electric guitars with plenty of twang and some distortion, no double bass but electric bass and an alarmingly significant saxophone and venomously rumbling drums - the style of the "Wild Rockin' Bands", as we know it from great sampler series, e.g. on CRYPT.

With one foot in the garage and sometimes even hinting at the foundations of psychobilly with a certain gloominess, this style eventually replaced the more acoustic-looking early rockabilly of the early days. Bassist STEPHANE and saxophonist JERY already had a stylistically very similar formation in the 80s with THE JOKERS.

The 13 songs on "Hydrogen Bob" certainly live up to the album title: powerful, explosive and with a subtly dark vibe. THE MEGATONS have already made themselves known throughout Europe and to German audiences through extensive touring.
