In 2019, Arlo McKinley played a show at Nashville's High Watt. He'd been doing gigs like this in the DIY singer-songwriter circuit for years, but this night was different. In the audience was one of his musical idols, John Prine. When they met briefly before the concert, Prine, never at a loss for praise, told Arlo he was a fan. But that wasn't all. Shortly after, he was signed to Oh Boy Records, Prine's indie label. Arlo began 2020 with the momentum of a new album - his first with a producer and a road team - and a booked international tour. Then things took a strange turn for the world.
