Matchbox is a British teddyboy rock band from the 70s. Besides the Stray Cats (New Rockabilly) they are regarded as the fathers of the Rock-'n'-Roll-Revival towards the end of the 70s.

The 2CD-Expanded-Edition offers 32 tracks, including all UK-Hit-Singles and B-Sides, some of which are available for the first time on CD.

Among the album highlights are titles like "Rockabilly Rebel", "Buzz Buzz A Diddle It", "Midnite Dynamos", "When You Ask About Love", "Over The Rainbow" and many more.

The extensive booklet contains detailed liner notes for each song. A recommendation for all Matchbox fans!

Matchbox – Rockabilly made in Britain

Die britische Band Matchbox zählt zu den wichtigsten Vertretern des Rockabilly-Revivals der späten 1970er- und frühen 1980er-Jahre. Mit Hits wie Rockabilly Rebel, Midnite Dynamos oder When You Ask About Love landeten sie nicht nur in den UK-Charts, sondern auch europaweit große Erfolge.

Gegründet 1971 in Middlesex, England, orientierte sich Matchbox an den amerikanischen Originalen der 1950er-Jahre, verband jedoch den klassischen Rockabilly-Sound mit einer zeitgemäßen, energiegeladenen Produktion. Ihr Image – Tollen, Lederjacken und Kontrabass – traf den Nerv der Zeit und machte sie zu einer festen Größe in der Szene. Neben Frontmann Graham Fenton prägten wechselnde, aber stets hochkarätige Musiker den unverkennbaren Sound der Band.

Matchbox ist bis heute aktiv und begeistert Rock’n’Roll-Fans weltweit mit authentischen Liveshows, neuen Aufnahmen und dem ungebrochenen Spirit des Rockabilly.
