Al Martino,

ein Sänger der alten Schule, mit einem fast opernhaften Tenor, wurde am 7. Oktober 1927 als Alfred Cini in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania geboren. Als ehemaliger Maurer wurde er von Mario Lanza ermutigt, zu singen und das melodramatische 'Here In My Heart' wurde 1952 zum Hit auf BBS. Für Capitol hat er seither mit unterschiedlichem Erfolg aufgenommen. 'Spanish Eyes' (ursprünglich 1955 aufgenommen) war 1965 und nochmal in den 70ern ein Hit. Seine Karriere nahm eine weitere Aufwärtsbewegung nach seiner Assoziation mit dem Film 'The Godfather'.
