The Japanese label On The Hill Records has almost specialized in releasing old recordings from the days of the 80s rockabilly revival. Andy Martin was the singer of the Poorboys (E.P. on Ace) and Jet Black Machine is the band that John Willoughby (also Poorboys) founded after his move to the States. The eight songs on this cd were recorded between 1988 and 1992, when the two ex-Poorboys got together again to continue the successes of the early 80s with a very pop rockabilly variant. "Fortune Teller" and "Medicine Man" are well known from various bootleg LPs. Both are typical Neo-Rockabilly bangers. With "Catman" it becomes a bit more difficult, since here the pop part predominates, just as with the remaining 5 titles. Popabilly In Purest Form And For People Who Beltane Fire Etc. Good Find For Sure The Right Thing. Possibly worth buying for the first two, but already published, titles. Oh
