Who was/is Ilja Livschakoff ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more

Ilya Livschakoff

* November 15, 1903 - 1991

The Russian concert violinist and his dance orchestra are among the most popular in Berlin in the 1930s. He, too, had ended up in the European capital of light music, where he has been the exclusive artist of Deutsche Grammophon since 1929. He preserves large parts of his repertoire on records. On the label "The voice of his master" the recordings are made under his bourgeois name, on Polydor under the pseudonym Fred Marley. With the Nico Dostal hit potpourri "For everyone!" (1931) the soloists really heat up the listeners. Here the Berlin Crooner Leo Monosson sings. - Livschakoff emigrated to Argentina in 1937/1938.
