Who was/is Little Victor Mac ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more
Little Victor Mac
Multiple Award-Winning Little Victor has been called the King of Grit and the antithesis of meaningless virtuosity by the Los Angeles Times. His work has also been praised by the likes of Robert Palmer (editor of Rolling Stone), Mat Snow (editor of MOJO Magazine), Frank-John Hadley (Downbeat) and many more. His unusual rich, quirky and inspired „post-modern“ dow- nhome blues became well-known to blues audiences through his work with the legendary Louisiana Red on the highly celebrated Back To The Black Bayou. This album is already regar- ded as a classic blues.
Their very successful association started in 2004 and ended when Red passed away in 2012 but Victor never stopped performing, producing and recording. His latest effort „Deluxe Lo-Fi“ was voted „Album of The Year“ in the UK and Finland. Little Victor also played and toured and recorded with the likes of Hubert Sumlin, RL Burnside, Robert Belfour, Kim Wilson, Tav Falco‘s Panther Burns, and many others, before teaming up with Louisiana Red. He first came up with the song „The Death of Louisiana Red“ a few days after Red passed away but he couldn‘t finish it. It was too heartbreaking. It took him eight long years to find the strength to record it. He finally did it for this album, using one of Louisiana Red‘s favorite brass slides, and giving a very intense and heartfelt performance.
