Keith Sweat discovered this all-female trio (Athena Cage, Lavonn Battle, and Tabitha Duncan) from Atlanta, but Kut Klose had far more to offer than just being a superstar’s protégés. Their only album, “Surrender,” released in 1995, has become a true cult classic, no doubt partly because songs like “Get Up on It” and “Sexual Baby” are simply incredibly hot. But the production is top-notch as well: the team at H.O.P. Productions—Eric McCaine and Fitzgerald Scott—collaborated with Sweat to create these sensual grooves. “I Like” was the hit, but the whole album just has that “let’s spend the night at home” vibe. “Surrender,” which was never released on vinyl in the U.S., comes in a light blue, vinyl-remastered pressing with a printed inner sleeve.
