The 20-year-old blues hotshot hails from Clarksdale, Mississippi, with a sensational debut filled with piercing guitar, raw, passionate vocals and powerful songwriting. His mentor, and guest on “Fresh Out”, is Buddy Guy.

In 2014, he played at the White House and performed two songs in the Netflix series Luke Cage. Last year, he made a guest appearance at an NPR Tiny Desk concert by rap icon Rakim.
