Originally released in 1992 by Sony Music Special Products and Monument Records, the set offers approximately 73 minutes of music and brings together recordings from her years with major orchestras as well as her later solo work. The selection includes But Beautiful, Star Eyes, It’s Been a Long, Long Time, Little Things Mean a Lot, It Could Happen to You, I’m Beginning to See the Light, I’ll Walk Alone, Misty, It Amazes Me, My Coloring Book, I’ll Buy That Dream, Besame Mucho and How Are Things in Glocca Morra?. Little Things Mean a Lot remains one of Kitty Kallen’s best-known recordings. Her career developed from the big-band world of the 1940s into successful solo recordings during the 1950s and 1960s. FOMO for collectors of classic vocal pop, swing and big-band music: with two CDs and 24 tracks, The Kitty Kallen Story offers a substantial introduction to her recorded work and is a release worth discovering for anyone interested in the classic American vocal tradition.
