Scottish beat band The Kaisers are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. Although there's a gap of about 15 years halfway through, they've released a whole bunch of cool albums, EPs and singles in that time. The current lineup features founders George Miller (lead guitar, vocals) and Johnny Maben (drums, backing vocals), along with veteran Mark Ferrie (bass, backing vocals) and relative newcomer Richie Raveman (rhythm guitar, backing vocals). With their new 45, the heroes show that they can still write hits. Both the A-side "Monkey Train" and the B-side "Sugaree" are rousing garage rock'n'roll party crackers, catchy and danceable. This is not to be missed. Also very entertaining live.
