The Invitations began in the mid-60s and had various lead singers before Lew Kirton joined in 1973. Lew is the singer on “Look On The Good Side” and “They Say The Girl's Crazy” from 1974, which are re-released here for the first time. The original pressings were released on Silver Blue Records, a label founded by songwriter/producer Joel Diamond. Both songs were arranged and co-produced by Bobby Martin in Philadelphia and have the full Philly sound. Lew later left the group to pursue a solo career, during which he is best remembered for “Heaven In The Afternoon”.
