Hanns Dieter Hüsch

"He is - a bush" (Thomas Rothschild)

Hanns Dieter Hüsch (1925-2005) was not really a songwriter in the narrower sense. "But also any other job title - such as cabaret artist, humorist, solo entertainer - would be too narrow", Thomas Rothschild writes in his portrait book 'Liedermacher'. But Hüsch "is literally unique within the Federal Republican scene". Therefore the last 'word' should be granted to him at this point. With a commentary on the Deutschfolkwelle in the seventies. Which is just as unique - a Hüsch. This recording was made on 6 May 1978 and was the 23rd episode of 'Hanns Dieter Hüsch's Gesellschaftsabend' at Saarländischer Rundfunk. With a selection of highlights, it was entirely dedicated to the artist's 30th stage anniversary. However, the premiere of the folklore number had already taken place two and a half years earlier, in November 1975 at the 11th 'Gesellschaftsabend'. Hüsch's own traumatic experiences at the Waldeck Festival in 1968 are clearly echoed in the satirical introduction.
