Two songs by double bass player and songwriter Carlos Slap (Madrid) with British singer Bob Heron. 7" vinyl in beautifully designed 4c artwork on El Toro. Carlos “Slap” Lopez is an established double bass player in the Spanish roots music scene, known not least for his regular band Carlos Slap 8- His Rockin' Fellas. The talented musician plays in numerous studio and live line-ups between country, swing, rockabilly and rock'n'roll and writes outstanding songs with a perfect midfifties vibe. With “Jimmy Weed” and “Road To Nowhere”, Slap has written two wonderful numbers for Rob Heron that hit the mark between Western Swing, Gypsy Jazz and Latin Swing.
The exclusive B-side is a funk number in the style of James Brown with a bongo breakdown and a humorous lyric about eating in bed. Oh, and check out the hypnotic artwork by Sheffield's coolest cat, Jake Smithies.
