Back on CrossCut after 20 years: Franck Goldwasser, guitarist, singer and songwriter - born in Paris and who emigrated to the US West Coast in 1983.
Franck has worked with just about every major blues musician in California and elsewhere, a legend like Charlie Musselwhite speaks highly of him!
No exaggeration to say Franck ranks among the icons of urban electric blues - his way of playing guitar is individual, unique, always innovative, passionate, biting, full of surprises and above all: full of soul.
The songs on 'Who Needs This Mess !!?' reflect Franck's life and experiences, describing grievances in the US and elsewhere. The core of the studio recordings released here for the first time were made between 2019 and 2021 in Ventura, California.
Musical guests include Charlie Musselwhite, R.J. Mischo, Kirk Fletcher and Sugaray Rayford.
As a bonus, there is a 7-minute slow blues, recorded in 2014 at the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland, Oregon.
