Iska Geri beginnt ihre Karriere 1937 beim Reichsrundfunk in Berlin. 1940 wechselt sie ins Kabarett der Komiker (KadeKo) und macht sich in kürzester Zeit einen Namen in Kleinkunstbühnen-Kreisen. Weithin bekannt wird sie durch das von ihr parodierte "Känguruh" und eine Persiflage auf Zarah Leander. Sie zeichnet 1941 mit dem Orchester von Friedrich Meyer-Gergs das Willy-Berking-Lied "Zum Tanzen geboren" auf.
