Who was/is Jack Drake ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more

Jack Drake

The longest-serving member of the Texas Troubadours – Jack Drake joined the band in the fall of 1944 when he was still in his early twenties. Except for a brief departure in 1949, he played bass behind Tubb until health problems led to his leaving in 1968. Drake was well loved by everyone that worked with him, and he gained a reputation as a crack talent scout and band manager. A heavy smoker, Drake passed away in 1972 from emphysema.
