JOHNNY DOWD (USA)
Blues rock singer/songwriter/guitarist born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1948. His first album, 'Wrong Side Of Memphis', didn't come out until as late as 1998.

Here Dowd is accompanied by Michael Starks (keyboards) and Brian Wilson (drums). This cover is quite unusual – so unusual, in fact, that it completely loses the entire concept of a classic song. All the other 13 tracks are original compositions by Dowd. Incidentally, his A Drunkard's Masterpiece album from 2008 contains a track titled 'C'est La Vie', but it's a Dowd original, not a version of 'You Never Can Tell'.
