The Deslondes are a five-piece group of musicians from New Orleans. The band divides the tasks of songwriting and lead vocals among its five members, thus continuing their democratic ethos and musical versatility. Between their second album “Hurry Home” (2016) and their latest album “Ways & Means” (2022), several members have released solo recordings.

With their latest album, “Roll It Out”, the band continues their original interpretation of New Orleans country and R&B. On “Roll It Out”, the band draws on the country folk of their debut, along with the sometimes psychedelic, electrified gospel-soul sound of their earlier records. The sound will continue to draw comparisons to the country-funk of The Band, Link Wray and others, but Roll It Out is the sound of a band that understands the history of American music while forging its own contemporary approach.
