Get ready for the long-awaited, brand-new album “Psychotic Mutilation” from Demented are Go! 39 years after their debut album and 13 years after “Welcome Back To Insanity Hall,” one of the most legendary original psychobilly acts, led by the charismatic, extraordinary (some would say ‘frenzy’) bandleader Mark “Sparky” Philips, is releasing a dozen new songs, or is it 13?
DAG have always given a damn about classic psychobilly purism: their sound is still a unique mixture (hellbilly), combining elements of rockabilly, punk, hellish rock ‘n’ roll with sometimes country-esque influences or darkest blues, all always characterized by Sparky's rough, venomous vocals. And as a very special guest, Emanuela Hutter from The Hillbilly Moon Explosion returns to perform a duet with Sparky on “Cast A Lonesome Shadow.” A wild and bizarre musical journey through human abysses, madness, and dark desires.

Demented Are Go

Eine Band, die seit über drei Jahrzehnten die Welt mit ihrem verdrehten Rock’n’Roll versorgt; Ausgehend vom legendären Klub Foot haben sie sich quer durch besetzte Häuser, Clubs und Festivals eine loyale Gefolgschaft aus Psychobillies, Punks, Goths, Geeks und Freaks erspielt, die einfach nicht genug vom DAG-Sound kriegen können. Sie formierten sich in England wahrscheinlich 1982 und schwammen ab 1984 mit ersten Veröffentlichungen auf der Psychobilly Welle der zweiten Generation, nach The Meteors, Sharks, Ricochets u.v.a.

Demented Are Gohaben eine Vielzahl von Studio- und Livealben veröffentlicht und sind bis heute aktiv, trotz einiger Trennungen und anschließender Reunions. Kopf der Band seit der Gründung ist Frontmann Mark 'Sparky' Philips, dessen auffällige Bühnen-Outfits sein Markenzeichen sind. Neben diversen Nebenprojekten nahm Phillips 2010 mit der Schweizer Band Hillbilly Moon Explosion die Country Ballade 'My Love For Evermore' auf, dem 2016 ein weiteres Duett mit einer Coverversion des Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazlewood Klassikers 'Jackson' folgte, auch berühmt durch Johnny Cash und June Carter.
