Delmore Brothers: Freight Train Boogie - King Recordings 1946 - 1952 (CD)

(ACE Records) 20 tracks

With their distinctive harmonies and guitar duets, the influential hillbilly duo Delmore Brothers are one of the most influential acts in early country music.
Freight Train Boogie brings together the duo's classic King recordings from 1946 to 1951 on one brilliant CD.
Many of the songs are further enriched by Wayne Raney's harmonica, and Pan-American Boogie even features both Raney and Lonnie Glosson's harmonicas.
Of particular interest to rock'n'roll fans are the pioneering rockabilly guitar (played by Jethro Burns) on “Freight Train Boogie” from 1946 and the relaxed western swing feel on “Hillbilly Boogie”, which many (including me) consider to be one of the duo's best songs.

Mitglieder: Alton Delmore, geb. 25. 12. 1908 in Elkmont - Alabama gest. 8. 6. 1964 Rabon Delmore, geb. 3. 12. 1916 in Elkmont - Alabama gest.
