Beide verfügten über ausdrucksstarke Stimmen. Darby spielte Gitarre, Tarlton spielte eine klassische Gitarre im Hawaii-Stil.

Obwohl Tom Darby (1890-1971) und Jimmie Tarlton (1892-1979) den Blues in die Countrymusik einbrachten, nahmen sie während ihrer Karriere nur einen Song von Jimmie Rodgers auf, den sentimentalen World War I Walzer, The Soldier's Sweetheart. Retitled Once I Had A Sweetheart, der Song wurde im April 1930 für Columbia aufgenommen. Die Platte enthält die traurige Steelgitarre und den Gesang von Tarlton, wobei Darby die Back-up-Rhythmusgitarre spielt.
