Chuck Daniels & The Downbeats – Saturday Nite On The Moon
This Downbeats group is in fact Bill Paradis & The Downbeats who backed up Johnny Amelio on his recordings for the Blue Moon label from Santa Clara, California. Chuck Daniels originally came from Watsonville but moved to Los Angeles to make it big. He convinced The Downbeats to follow him there. Both The Downbeats and Chuck Daniels recorded for the Wilco label in 1960. Chuck Daniels & The Classics' Wilco release Glass-Pak is a much sought after 45rpm single today. Daniels had connections to Madeline Baker, owner of the Audio Arts Recording Studio in L.A. He could arrange sessions at Audio Arts to collaborate with The Downbeats and the instrumental Saturday Nite On The Moon was recorded there and issued on Audio 204 in 1961.
