A lost Chantays album locked up and leaving a frothy mess! "A Dawning Sun", mostly recorded in 1966, sees the creators of "Pipeline" on another gem of a record!

These 13 nearly lost tracks come from the band archives of Richard Delvy (Belairs, Challengers) and include a unique version of "Mr. Moto," some new surf anthems and even a trio of vocal cuts. An instrumental cover of "You've Got Your Troubles" by The Fortunes, which was lost for a whopping 50 years, makes these sound waves a perfect surfing treat!

"A Dawning Sun," recorded mostly in 1966. These 10 lost tracks come from the band archives of Richard Delvy (Belairs, Challengers) and include the unique version of "Mr. Moto", some new surf anthems and even a trio of vocal cuts. There's also a great instrumental cover of "You've Got Your Troubles" by The Fortunes "Pipeline" is one of the most famous instrumental surf rock songs of the 1960s.

It was written by two young men from Santa Ana, California. Their group called themselves the Chantays. "Pipeline" has sold over a million copies since its initial release in December 1962. Many modern guitarists have been inspired by the melody and sparkling reverb guitar runs in "Pipeline," and many have learned to play guitar because of "Pipeline." Recently, some unreleased master tapes of the Chantays were unearthed, so we'll take another look at the Chantays' history and the recently recovered new information. With notes by noted surf writer Bob Dalley (Surfin' Guitars: Instrumental Surf Bands of the Sixties).
