I recorded this album five years ago. I've spent most of my career playing bass or guitar in other bands, so it's an incredible feeling to be able to say that this will be my first album featuring only my own music. I grew up influenced by my father (R.L. Burnside) and Junior Kimbrough and learned so much. This album is really a testament to them, to what they taught me, and to my development as a musician. I hope it makes them proud.
