"Stephen Ackles"

STEPHEN ACKLES (Norway)

Rock'n'roll and country singer/songwriter/pianist. He started out in his teens as an Elvis imitator, but in the mid-'80s he heard Jerry Lee's music and moved in that direction. In the late '80s, he recorded three albums for independent labels featuring a mix of good covers and original songs written in collaboration with guitarist Hans Uleberg.

He was signed by Sony in 1992. In the early '90s yours truly ran a record company, Fox Records, and released an album by Stephen titled 'If This Ain't Music' – after a song written by Narvel Felts especially for him. The album, recorded in Kennett, Missouri, was nominated for a Country Award in Norway in 1991.
