Singles - Reggae / Ska / Rocksteady / Dub

In this section you will find 7inch records (45rpm)  mostly from Jamaica including the Jamaican music styles Reggae-, Ska-, Rocksteady-, Dancehall- and Dub music.

Ska music is dated in generally from 1960 to 1966, Rocksteady was between 1966 and 1968 and Reggae music can be generally  dated  between 1969 and 1983. Within the Reggae music there were to phases, which are 'Early Reggae'  (from 1969 to 1974) and 'Roots Reggae' (from 1975 to 1983).
From 1983 on the Jamaican sounds has been called 'Dancehall' or 'Dub' music. Characteristic of 'Dub' music is the heavy bass and drum sound which is mixed with other instruments and vocals using fading and echo effects.

The 7inch records (45rpm) we offer in this section are mostly re-issues, reproductions and compiled A- and B-sides, including the original recorded versions of the songs.
