Golden Earring have been in existence since 1961 and the current line-up gathers founding members George Kooymans (vocals and guitar) and Rinus Gerritsen (bass, keyboard) along with Barry Hay (vocals, guitar, flute and saxophone) who joined in 1968 and Cesar Zuiderwijk (drums) who joined the band in 1970.

The band has had more than 40 top hits and 30 albums in their career, most of which have gone either gold or even platinum in their native Netherlands. Most famous is Radar Love, the hit single from 1973 and the 1982 single Twilight Zone.

In 1992, MTV's Unplugged Session were so trendy that bassist Rinus suggested they record an acoustic album themselves. The record company was less than enthusiastic, so the album was recorded on a shoestring budget in a café in Amsterdam.

Naked Truth was to become the band's best-selling album.

Holländische Heavy-Rockgruppe von internationalem Rang. Wurde 19.66 von Bassist und Organist Marinus Gerritsen (geboren 9. 8.1946 in Den Haag) und seinem Schulfreund Gitarrist George Kooymans (geboren 11.3.1948 in Den Haag) gegründet. Die Single „That Day' war die erste Platte und wurde sofort in Holland ein Hit. ln den folgenden Jahren gingen Golden Earring mit Who in England, Deutschland und den Vereinigten Staaten auf Tournee. Das und die LP „Eight Miles High' brachten ihnen schließlich den Erfolg. 1973 gelang ihnen auch der welt- weite Durchbruch in den Hitparaden. „Radar Love' war der Song, der in Amerika, England und Deutschland die Hitparaden anführte. Schlagzeuger ist Cesar Zuiderwyk (geboren 18.7.1950 in Den Haag). Die Sologitarre spielt seit 1968 der in lndien geborene Barry Hay (geboren 16. 8.1948 in Salzabad).
