Who was/is Billy Rocka ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more
Graced with a blazing two-chorus guitar solo, Billy Rocka’s lively Listen Pretty Baby, issued in early 1958, wasn’t enough to earn him a Brunswick encore. Morty Corb, who penned the rocker with Allan Copeland and Jack Lloyd, was a veteran Dixieland jazz bassist. Rocka took on I’m Gonna Sit Right Down And Cry, the Howard Biggs/Joe Thomas-penned rocker from Elvis’ first RCA album (R&B crooner Roy Hamilton cut the original version in 1954), on the flip.
