Who was/is Bob Orrison ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more

Bob Orrison

Bob Orrison hailed from the Mexican American community of Bakersfield, California. He had graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1949 before he started his career as a rodeo performer. The President of Global Records, Chris Christensen, soon became aware of the singing cowboy. He recorded Orrison and submitted the masters to Liberty Records in Hollywood for distribution. Executives at Liberty were impressed and signed a contract with Orrison in De- cember of 1959. Although the contract resulted in only one single release in March of 1960, Sarah Lee b/w Florecita, the record is best known to collectors worldwide for the appearance of Eddie Cochran on the sin- gle’s A-side.
