Nikolaus Gatter described the 'Anarcho-Älbler' Johannes Christ, called Goisshannes, in the 'Folker!' as an "insider tip from the singer-songwriter samizdat of the turn of the millennium". "In gnarled Brutalstschwäbisch, he dedicates to the outsiders and the stranded, crazed-jubilant country folk and melancholy blues, while rubbing the motto 'create, schbaara, noo farregga' under his fellow countrymen's nose." Influenced by chanson, blues and folk, the founder and frontman of the Albraabänd describes country and people, mainly from the Swabian Alb, where he lived for four long years. In Liederwerkstätten, Christ deals with historical themes such as Vormärz and the 48 Revolution, 100 years of workers' songs and authentic songs from the concentration camps.
Goissahannes has been writing songs in Swabian dialect since the end of the 60s. "But this was not a fad at the time! I just wrote and sang in the dialect in which I thought and felt. This had nothing to do with 'Heimattümelei' then or now. Some well-known record companies came up to me and said I should sing Bavarian or imitate the Austrian dialect, if only in dialect, because this would probably be better received by the audience and they could market me well. However, I only acknowledged this with a tired smile and always remained true to myself as a Swabian and my dialect."
The history of Moschd from 'm Kruag goes back to a "humid-happy round" with a few Irish who toured Germany in the early 70s. "The guitar went round and round and everyone gave their best. I sang some of my Swabian songs to the boys and girls and everyone was thrilled. One of the guys, no Irishman but a Scotsman named Dougie MacLean, had the idea to come to Ireland or Scotland and sing my Swabian songs in the pubs there. This could best be sold as Gaelic that no one understands. In short, I wrote a Swabian parody on the Irish drinking song 'Whiskey In The Jar', called it 'Moschd aus 'm Kruag' and recorded it on my first LP. And lo and behold, there was a lot of radio play going on back then."
In 2006 a sampler with 18 tracks from Goissahannes was released under the title 'Beschd oph'. To date eight own recordings have been released.
