"Unsere Musik ist Rot – mit Purpur-Blitzen." So bezeichneten Eddie Phillips (Gitarre), Kenny Pickett (Gesang), Bob Garner (Bass) und Jack Jones (Schlagzeug) ihre aggressive Mod-Musik, mit dem die ehemaligen Mark Four ab 1966 in England Hits verbuchten.
Später stießen auch Ron Wood (seit 1975 ein Rolling Stone) und Kim Gardner (Bass) zur Band. Speziell in Deutschland hatte die Crew eine enorme Fan-Gefolgschaft und neben Painter Man mit Tom Tom einen weiteren Top-Hit. Pickett und Gardner sind verstorben, der eigenwillige Creation-Sound lebt weiter.
