geb. 1. 11. 1901 in Opp - Alabama gest. 3. 12. 1961 Record Labels: Mercury, Starday, Old Homestead Lew Childre, er nannte sich auch gerne Doctor Lew oder The Boy From Alabama, hatte zwar nie Hitparadenerfolge, doch war er einer der großartigsten Komödianten und Alleinunterhalter mit seiner Hawaii-Gitarre, seinem launischen Gesang und seinen witzigen Sprüchen, welche die alte Vaudeville-Schule verrieten. Sein wichtigsten Betätigungsfeld waren die Radiostationen. Daneben war er Mitglied der Grand Ole Opry und arbeitete eine Zeitlang mit Stringbean zusammen
